6/7 Science:  Your Moon Trackers are due on Thursday, March 1.  Make sure you have a drawing of the moon for each day in February.

In Period 1 you will be working in the lab.  Please focus on continuing your Flight Plan.  Good copies of Flight Plan must be handed in to me on Friday in the form of a memo that begins: 

Dear Commander: 

Please be advised of the Flight Plan for Crew _____ departing for __________ on __________.

Remember to write in your journals….BE CREATIVE!

Grade 8 Keyboarding:  Today I want you to choose a town in Manitoba that you have visited (excluding Winnipeg and Brandon).  Don’t forget to cite your references. Find the following:

  • Name (Using Word Art)
  • population 
  • three tourist attractions (description or picture)
  • a map that shows the town’s location in Manitoba
  • a weather map or chart indicating today’s weather  

Complile your information into a Works document and print your results.  Don’t forget your name!!! 

Grade 7/8 SS:  Please follow the “Egyptian Food” link found on this site to a related article.  Summarize the article in your own words.  Use illustrations to support your writing. 

Follow the same instructions for “Egyptian Clothing”. 

Your responses must be typed.  Make sure that you discuss the main idea of the article.  Use proper grammer, punctuation, capitalization. Don’t forget to cite your references.

Gr. 6 ELA:  Please follow your regular morning routine for period 1.  Silent Reading and Daily Language

Gr. 5 SS:  Milk Week Bookmarks in period 3, Title Pages:  The Emerging Nation  in period 4

Gr. 6 ELA:  Finish Character poems in period 5.

Gr. 4/5 ELA:  Period 6, follow our regular routine of Silent Reading and Daily Language.  Period 7 finish Character poems.

Gr. 8 SS:  Write your name in hieroglyphics.  Follow the link on this site and type your first name only into the box.  Copy the symbols on to a sheet of paper and return to the classroom.  Draw the symbols vertically onto your “papyrus”, then use markers to colour them in.  Please be careful because your will not have a spare piece of “papyrus”.  Good luck!

Upcoming Events

Milk Week Starts:  Don’t forget to bring in your money!  Jokes must be turned into the office before morning announcements.  We start working on our bookmarks.

I LOVE TO READ month activities will continue this week.  Look for a special presentation of I’m so Embarrassed  later this week.

Valentine’s Day party for grade 6 will take place p. 5 only.  Don’t forget your snacks.  Remember to bring your skates and helmets!

Grade 6 ELA:  Parts of Speech poems are due, Section 2 Daily Language must be turned in by Wednesday.

Grade 6 Social:  Test is Tuesday…if you don’t have a study sheet, see me ASAP on Monday morning.

Grade 6/7 Science:  Fill in those moon tracker sheets

Grade 4/5 ELA:  Parts of Speech poems are due; Section 2 Daily Language must be handed in.

Grade 7/8 Social:  Pyramid searches must be turned in; those of you that need to finish your mummy research will need to make an effort to get into the lab to work on it…see me Monday
